NFL Test Subjects

Last week, the Indianapolis Colts traveled to London to play Jacksonville. Following their loss, the Colts returned home, just like every NFL team has in the past from London. Except this time, the Colts would have to prepare for another game just seven days away. For the first time since the NFL starting playing games in London, a team involved in playing in London will not have a bye week immediately following the game.

The NFL is basically using the Colts as guinea pigs to see how they react to the increased travel without the benefits of a bye week. While there are certainly several issues that will need to be addressed prior the existence of a team overseas, travel is near the top of the list. I personally feel the question for a NFL team in London is simply a matter of when, not if.  The Colts are simply the newest test subjects as the NFL looks to expand the game, and its brand, globally.
